  • Project Overview:

The Fair Oaks Plaza Project in Sunnyvale, California, was a mixed-use development completed in 2019, designed to enhance the community by providing residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. The project aimed to revitalize the area with modern infrastructure, sustainable design, and improved accessibility for residents and businesses. The result of a visionary partnership between MidPen Housing, Santa Clara County and the City of Sunnyvale, Fair Oaks Plaza is a wonderful example of infill development: 124 new, affordable rental homes for very low and extremely low-income seniors built on what was once a large parking lot. Situated next to a valley medical clinic, this 124 unit low income senior housing project is comprised of two, four-story wood framed building over a one level parking garage. Amenities in this gated community include two laundry rooms, a fitness center, and a community room with computer and multi-media center that opens out onto three different beautifully landscaped courtyards with BBQ, fountain, and community gardens. Significant green features including a photovoltaic system and solar hot water system.
